I'm picking up a new motor on Sunday. A 6.0L LQ4 complete from intake to oil pan minus the throttle body and alternator, and I think the starter. I'm getting a pretty good deal on it so I couldn't pass it up. I'll be looking for help piecing together all the parts I need for the swap. I'm going to try and get a lot of stuff done this coming winter. I can't start until then because of my wedding and then I have another semester of school after that. I might start taking out the TPI motor over the summer though. _________________ -Nick-

Sweet as long as it's not a 99-00.
So what tranny are you going with? _________________

It is out of a 2000 Silverado HD. What's wrong with that? Later in the year I'd like to pick up a T56 to go with it. _________________ -Nick-

Well that sucks a fat one. Now I have nothing to look forward to this weekend. So its either put a stock truck trans behind it or get a newer block... Hmmm _________________ -Nick-

Ya thanks for the heads up. I think Jason is pretty ticked off now...I told him I'm sorry for backing out, but I really want a T56 with my swap not a 4L80E _________________ -Nick-

I already bought a 6.0 from a 99 or 00 truck and I'm gonna have chad and andy put a crank from an LS1 in it to make a T56 work with it. They also have a set of aluminum heads I'm gonna get later. _________________ -Nick-

I've got a 20k mile LS2 crank sitting here for you, I'll let it go cheap. _________________

Well after sorting out a few questions I had with the block fitting up with a T56, I found out for sure that a crank/flywheel swap will fix the problem. So I'm keeping the block and this summer, shortly after my wedding, I'm taking it down to Redline to have their machine shop put an LSX crank and flywheel on it along with new rod bolts and bearings, and a set of aluminum LS1 heads. I may or may not be putting a cam in it right away, I'll have to see where I'm at money-wise at that point.
I also found a guy from thirdgen.org (SheldonZ28) who has done a '99 LQ4 swap in his car and he's going to hook me up with a modded wiring harness for a small fee plus my wiring harness as a core charge. _________________ -Nick-

By the way, Jeremy, check your for sale thread. How cheap will you let that crank go? _________________ -Nick-
