Compared to a 3rd gen computer.. Just replacing a air sensor on Christas 2002 3.8 Bird and want to reset the SES light. Unhooked both battery terminals for like 20 minutes ,and the SES is still on after start up . Is that normal if I replaced the part then took the terminals off ? Thought the SES light would be off on start up ????

Are you sure that sensor is what was causing the code?

The light should go off when the problem is fixed then the code clears from the PCM after 50-100 miles of driving

Positive the sensor was the problem. Christa had the coolant flushed and they unplugged it and LEFT it unplugged. But it hasn't been driven 50 to 100 miles yet. maybe that is it.
